Sarah Deno was born and raised in Nanaimo, BC, where she now lives with her husband and two children. She developed a love of music at an early age learning to sing and play classical violin as a small child. As a teen, she added the trombone to her repertoire as she became interested in Jazz Music. Sarah continued her Music education into Post Secondary, earning her Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from VIU in 2010. In the years since, she has been fortunate to have gained valuable experience as a performer, recording musician, and teacher.

Sarah has been teaching at Riffable’s Lantzville location since 2017, and has had the honour of seeing her students grow into confident and well rounded musicians. No matter where a student is on their journey, she is passionate about sharing her love of music, and catering her lessons to each person’s individual strengths and interests.
